Gulf Air is enhancing its fleet by leasing nine new Airbus A320neo family aircraft from BOC Aviation, signaling a commitment to modernizing operations and expanding its network. Deliveries are scheduled between 2025 and 2027.

BOC Aviation and Gulf Air have finalized a lease agreement for nine Airbus A320neo family aircraft, comprising six A320neo and three A321neo models. The aircraft will feature CFM LEAP-1A engines.

Steven Townend, CEO of BOC Aviation, stated, "This transaction provides Gulf Air with technologically advanced aircraft that will be delivered over a period of three years to support its fleet growth." Dr. Jeffrey Goh, CEO of Gulf Air, added, "We are pleased to be able to enhance our fleet with these new aircraft, which will enable us to provide an even better travel experience for our passengers. This partnership with BOC Aviation underscores our commitment to modernising our operations and expanding our network."

The deal signifies Gulf Air's ongoing strategy to upgrade its fleet with fuel-efficient and technologically advanced aircraft. By leasing instead of purchasing, Gulf Air can manage capital expenditure more effectively while still benefiting from the latest aviation technology to improve passenger experience. Aircraft analysts suggest that this move aligns with industry trends toward sustainable aviation and operational efficiency, which could lead to increased competitiveness and profitability for Gulf Air in the long run.
